WARNING: DON’T FOLLOW YOUR PASSION!

“BRING YOUR PASSION WITH YOU ALL THE TIME, BUT DON’T FOLLOW IT. – Mike Rowe”

I have my passion, you have a passion, and we all have desires in our lives. However, what if your passion will lead you to nothing? What if your passion makes you feel alone – sad – stress – and even depress? Is this a reason why you lost yourself? Why you lost so many opportunities outside?

I am not saying that having a passion makes you bad but putting some limitations on it. How can I explain this? Well, this is for every people who just started their journey. Of course! You have your passion in reaching your goals in life; you have your passion about your future, you have your passion about what – why – how you should do and to become in your life, you have your passion in everything you do BUT, at the end of the day you just got rejected. Well, I am just sharing this for you to know what’s the reality and this is just my opinion and based on real-life (which is my cousin).

Here’s the story:

She is a goal-oriented person. She is smart. She graduated with honour at one of the most prestigious universities here in the Philippines. One of her goals is to study abroad and to have a master’s degree. That’s her passion in life; that’s all she wanted to become what she wants to be. She has done everything she needs to do, but she got rejected so many times. By that time, she feels sad, heartbroken and depressed. We lost our communication for the longest time. And I don’t know anything that happened to her until we got our contact back through messenger. And she opened to me everything. I just got relieved by that time after she confessed me everything. I’m so happy that she already knows how to share her problems in life and to be so open to me. I think we get closer as a cousin.

Well, this is just a short story because I don’t want to expose everything that we have discussed. I love her, and I respect her privacy. I just wanted to share with you on what she (we) have learned in life.

There’s a video clip below; she sent me this earlier. And you should also watch it too.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?

Don’t rush things. Do one at a time. You may have lost yourself and opportunities outside if you keep following your goals. It’s okay to be rejected for you to be a better person and to learn in life that not everything you wants, you get. Well, there’s still another way to reach those by taking the “ladders” in life and have learned in every step of the way. Be open!

THAT’S ALL FOR TODAY! THANKS FOR READING!
